Great place for a snack and cocktails. Having bruschetta and boneless wings. Both were very good. Now going to listen to some live music.

I always can't say anything bad about Taphouse. Every time I go. The meals get better and better daily. No matter what I enjoy the ambiance and the decor of the establishment. Kudos to Taphouse.

Food was delicious! I ordered the blackened salmon and it was to die for! Portions are very large as well. There's also a huge variety of alcoholic beverages which kept us intrigued to keep trying more! The prices were average for the type of restaurant i was. Our waiter was very on top of his sections and didn't stray away from our table for long! Will definitely go back in the future!

Always come here, the staff is friendly and the food is great. It can be loud with the bands on the weekends, but I enjoy it. Drinks are good too.

I just realized I've never reviewed this place and we come here so much! This is a great bar style restaurant that has great food! The drinks are really good here and fairly priced. They have fun martinis that are candy inspired and also have a full bar for whatever you desire! Also as you guessed it from the name, it has lots of unique and local beers on tap. I personally love their pizzas, more personal sized but I never finish. Splitting may leave someone a little hungry, depends on your appetite. I've has the cheeseburger and chourico and fries (which is an amazing local Fall River tradition that you need to try if visiting!). Burgers are great too. If you're just coming for appetizers we have tried the nachos and these easily can be shared between 2 people. Lots of televisions all around showing sports. Usually a band or singer takes the stage around 8. There is bar seating as well. I don't think it gets too crazy at night but we've never been really late, just lunch and dinner. A must try in Fall River, conveniently located right by the courthouse!

We ordered takeout while hanging out at the salon next door. Mushroom pizza and the appetizer of assorted Asian, buffalo and Mozambique boneless chicken wings. Everyone loved it. The girl bartender took my order and was super nice and helpful. I have been here many times and they never disappoint!

This was a great stop! Atmosphere was comfortable for family. Service was great and the food was delicious. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and her bar suggestions were only point. We will definitely return!

This place has the neatest most clean bar I have ever seen. The bartender was equally at the top of his game. Very attentive and friendly. A very comfortable, CLEAN atmosphere. Did not have food only came in for drinks while waiting for Lizzie Borden tour.

One of the most absolute best finds lately. We went to the movies at a theatre we usually don't go to so I Yelped places around us. The "more" section of the restaurant drew me in because we had my six year old son today and the pictures won me over. I liked that I could make a reservation through Yelp and when we showed up I saw our reservation written in the hostess pad. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very likeable. My biggest problem was deciding what to have. The menu, coupled with my eyes scoping out everyone's plates, made for a difficult choice. I made a comment to my boyfriend that went like this, "the next five times we go out to eat we are going here because there is so much I want to try." He didn't argue. I ended up choosing a cup of chili to start. I could have dived in and lived in this cup if I could fit. I am a chili fanatic and picky. Definitely not a disappointment. For dinner I figured I would try for something healthy(ier) and went with the panko crusted cod. It was definitely amazingly yummy but most definitely not healthy. It had bacon bits crumbled on top. I'm not complaining because, well, bacon. However, it was cooked in tons of oil and the top was definitely less greasy than the bottom. It was not a disappointment at all. It just was not on the healthy side at all. It came with a generous side of garlic mashed potatoes and garlic green beans cooked to perfection; not mushy and a little bit of crunch. Since this is a place I've decided I need to visit again in the near future (is tomorrow too soon?!) I will be absolutely ordering one of their three kinds of mac and cheese. From what I saw it was overflowing out of the oval bowl and bubbling with homemade cheesy goodness. As we were leaving we got a pleasant and genuine thank you from either the manager or the owner. Either way, that was a pleasant surprise. It's far and few in between where you get a personal touch such as that. Also, this is a genuinely affordable place for the service, portion and homemade flavor you receive. Is it tomorrow yet?!

This place doesn't feel like a real restaurant - it reminds me a heck of a lot of something you might find in The Sims. There's no decor. This giant, open box has a few booths stapled to the far left wall, mirroring a cramped bar on the opposite side. It looks like chairs and tables were just flung into the space and righted where they fell, with a chaotic arrangement making the floor difficult to navigate. The staff tend to hang out right next to the kitchen and refuse to make eye contact. The first time I went, it took half an hour to get served. The second time, I gave up after twenty minutes and left. Both instances occurred around 2pm on a midweek day, so the place was mostly empty, besides me. I couldn't figure out if I had an extra head or none at all making the servers avoid, well, serving me. The food is the real star here, though, as well as the dozens of beers that can accompany each dish. I have tried the Reuben and the house burger, both of which are succulent and well-seasoned. The fries are inhalable, pretty much, and the servers do have a fairly good knowledge of what drinks go best with each. Overall, this is not a place for a quick lunch or a family gathering. It would be great for a bar crawl or friends with a lot of time to kill. Personally, I prefer more atmosphere for my chilling, so I'm not a fan of Taphouse.

my friends and i left me with the decision of finding dinner on our way back from newport, rhode island back to boston, massachusetts. how the hell we ended up in fall river (massachusetts? rhode island? we were so close to the border) i have no idea, but i'm glad we were steered correctly by the trusty yelp community into taphouse grille. it's your standard american fare, but there really is something for everyone here. as the token vegetarian, i liked seeing that there were more than 3 options for me - i ended up getting the not guilty wrap. though the contents weren't packed tightly, the very healthy serving of fries on the side kept me very full. my friends got the guinness meal (apparently there was pork, chicken & beef plus 2 sides), which was a lot of (tasty) food; another got a reuben, and another got the fish and chips. we all rolled out of there rounder and happier. thanks taphouse grille, for being our first and likely only impression of fall river. you did a great job representing your city.

This place was really good! Strong drinks and damn good food! Yum :-) I ended up here because my friends and I were staying up the block at the Lizzie Borden house for the night and this place was right there. Also was recommended to us by a member of the staff at the Borden's house. I ordered the Lizzie Borden Hatchet Drink which was tasty and not stingy on the liquor! I was just a little disappointed cuz they ran out of little hatchets for it boo! :-( I ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and holy crap! Soooooo delicious! The portions are very large so you will definitely have left overs lol Unless you share with someone- or maybe two someone's haha. I was there on a Friday night and they had live entertainment. It was a one man band playing a lot of 90's alternative stuff. He was pretty good. If you're ever in Fall River- this place is great to stop in on. Very reasonably priced too! Very clean and great service. No complaints! I'm from NYC though and it seems many MA people call it a night at 10pm? Lol come on people! Live a little :-P

More bar looking than restaurant. It one big room and kind of loud. Booths around the edges of the room, TVs with sports is main wall decoration. Wife and I had the fish tacos, mussels, salads and beers...all very good. They have a large selection of draft beer, all arranged on the menu by type. The server was very helpful in guiding us to good choices. When in Fall River again, I'd go back. Don't trust the reservation widget in Yelp for this as it said no availability at 7pm, but there were plenty of tables.

Had a great experience here! Service was very good, waitress was very nice, helpful with menu questions. Fried pickle appetizer was excellent, the batter was nice and light, not greasy. Fish and chips were some of the best we've ever had, with great homemade cole slaw. The bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes was excellent and fresh green beans that were cooked perfectly. Dessert, the grilled pound cake sundae....omg.....so good, genius idea! We will definitely go back!

I love everything about this place! 1. Huge, fully stocked bar with tons of beers on draft and a large cocktail selection 2. Unique and delicious entrees. Bacon wrapped meatloaf with homemade spiced ketchup? YES PLEASE! 3. Bartender that looks like Daniel Tosh and has the best personality in the world 4 Portion size: killer

I really wasn't impressed with this place. I came on a very dead afternoon with a few friends. Our waitress either had no personality, didn't want to be there, or was hung over. I was very disappointed with the beer menu. There was nothing spectacular on the list. The waitress got a beer for one person while the rest of us decided which mediocre beer we wanted. She never even came back to see if we decided on anything. I wasn't expecting the food to be as good as it was. I had the buffalo mac and cheese and it was very delicious. The others I was with were equally as happy with their food. I am hesitant about returning, but the buffalo mac and cheese was good enough to make me consider visiting again.

After a rainy day full of Battleship Cove exploration, my fella & I needed a serious meal. I pulled out my yelp app for iphone and stumbled across Taphouse Grille, which is just a short drive away. Not realizing how much food you get for your buck at the Taphouse, we ordered the Mussels appetizer, a side Caesar, the white pizza with mushrooms and a plate of three tips of grilled meat with a side of sweet potato fries and a side of mashed potatoes. The mussels were AMAZING. Probably the best thing I've eaten in my life. Not kidding. The portion was big- at least two pounds of fresh mussels, floating in a broth of bacon, butter, white white and garlic. The broth was so good I made the waitress leave it behind so I could dip my pizza in it. The broth was so good, I wanted to drink it. The broth was so good, I wanted to roll around in it like my doggie does when he finds a stinky spot on the grass, or a dead thing. I have to say it again: the broth was so good. So. good. The pizza was also really good! I love a white pizza, but I hardly ever order one anymore, as I'm always sharing with my fella and he likes sauce. It was salty and sweet and creamy and delicious, and garnished with a flavorful swirl of reduced balsamic, which is one of my absolute favorite things to eat. The crust was chewy but not overly thick, and since it was made on the grill, it had a great flavor and was outstanding when dipped in leftover mussel broth. The broth was so so so good. My man's meat plate was also pretty spectacular, and I loved the crispy sweet potato fries I was able to snag off his plate. Overall, this was one of those amazingly memorable dining experiences where you don't really want to stop eating at any point, and you wish you'd worn sweat pants to the restaurant. We took the leftovers to go and ate them without shame at seven am in Logan Airport the next morning, on our way back to Los Angeles, where we rather begrudgingly reside. If we'd bought this meal at home, it would have cost an extra $30 for sure, btw- just another reason to move back to Massachusetts, I guess!

Parking is tricky but every time I have came here I got a consistently good meal! I especially loved the fajitas that come sizzling with an enormous amount of food. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. More of a winter spot it would be great with some outside seating.

My friends and I came here after shopping for bridesmaid dresses down the street. The bar was pretty empty so service was great! We got lunch and a few different beers from the variety of taps and everyone really enjoyed their food. The place is small but the food for lunch was so much better than we expected when we arrived! I would definatley return here with friends for lunch again.

My husband and I went here after lunch. I'm sad because I wanted to eat the food but I was overly stuffed. We just had a couple of drinks and it seemed real real cool. The bartender Joe was super nice and so were the customers. Everyone seemed warm and friendly. The menu was so Fall River cool. I really wanted to try the chorizo bruschetta, next time! I will do a recap soon because I will definetly be back sooner than later. PS the desserts looked magnificent.

I used to LOVE this place but I have to say management is really poor. The manager seems to be buddy buddy with the cooks so don't even think of complaining because he will make you feel like crap and ultimately still charge you for your messed up meal. I saw him yelling at an employee,I think kitchen staff maybe a dishwasher or prep?. Seriously in front of us!! The food is going down hill too it used to be way better. We tried one last time Friday and out of 5 people 3 orders were wrong and the waiter could of cared. Bad bad bad. Maybe a change of management or retraining of staff could save this place? I've worked in restaurant management and he clearly doesn't have a "boss" mentality too busy being "buddies" and it shows. I'll keep reading new reviews and maybe try again but not sure

This is a great place to watch the Patriot games. I've been going there to watch Sunday games this season and I have not been disappointed by the food or the service. Keep up the good work, especially on 'slow' Sundays!

Great food and beer selection. One of the best wait staff's of any restaurant in the city. My only complaint is they shoot themselves in the foot with sometimes bad and extremely loud entertainment on the weekends. I go there for their great menu, service and beer selection. Not to listen to loud cover bands of 40 something year olds cover 3 doors down and Bon Jovi.

Buffalo chicken mac and cheese is orgasmic. Great beer selections- no complaints there. Nice staff, if a little distant (which works for me as I do not like to be bothered at all by my servers) who are typically very attentive with a good attitude. Steak tips are a tad sweet for me but are also a killer dish- always cooked correctly (never over- or undercooked). Their nachos are surprisingly righteous. Sandwiches are good. The goat cheese pizza with the balsamic glaze is mind blowing. The more I type the more good things come to mind here. Buffalo tenders? The SWEET ASIAN KIND? Perfecto. Every time. Frankly the only thing I tried recently that I thought was disappointing were the Mozambique fries and that was... well.. It's a new dish. I think they're maybe still working on the best way to execute it. Great idea... Not such a great execution. I thought it would be more like fries swimming in Mozambique sauce.. Instead it was cast iron skillet baked fries w melted cheese and Mozambique sauce spooned over. I just wanted my fries to swim. I would suggest trying them. I should have requested extra sauce.

Can I just say that the pork tenderloin with panko bread crumbs and a teriyaki type of sauce that has a little bit of a kick to it was unbelievable. I literally cardio with my fork no knife needed. My daughter had the vegetable stir fry and she added shrimp that was amazing and my son in law had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon.... oh my god service was friendly and on point And the prices are very reasonable. There was an acoustic guitarist that was an added treat and very good. We live in Braintree but we will be back

I got the grilled seafood medley, I am not a fan of fish usually. I decided to take a chance and give this dish a chance because the red pepper butter sauce sounded delicious. Jeff was our waiter, he was honest and up front from the beginning and extremely helpful. I decided to get the dish I got and I am 150% satisfied with my decision. I got sweet potato fries and mixed greens as my sides. I couldn't have asked for a better dish orbs better server or environment. I felt comfortable from the very beginning. I will definitely be back and I think I will get the same thing every time!!!! Yummy in my tummy!!!! Did I mention how GREAT Jeff was?! I suggest everyone go to Taphouse and ask to be seated with Jeff. You won't be disappointed!!!

February 11, 2014 Today felt like a drinks and apps day, so where better to get those things then right in our own backyard! People have been raving about Taphouse Grille for years, but Mom and I had never been. After finally having lunch here, we realized that we had been missing out on many a scrumptious meal. We were lucky enough to find a parking spot right in front of the restaurant, which is located right across the street from the Fall River Justice Center. Mom and I took that as a sign that we were going to have a great time at Taphouse, and we were right! Taphouse Grille is a modern pub with a beautiful bar area, several cozy booths and banquettes along the walls, and many tables and chairs for you to choose from. Above each booth and scattered throughout the restaurant are flat screen TVs for you to watch while you're having your meal. A lot of people may not think much of Fall River's downtown area, but stepping inside Taphouse is like being transported to a more upscale part of town. Our waiter - Jeff - brought over the food and drink menus. Mom decided on a cappuccino martini ($7.50) and I spotted sangria on the list. Since I'd never had sangria before, I had to enlist Jeff's help. He suggested the watermelon sangria ($6.50) and I'm so glad he did. This zestful drink served with skewered fruit tasted exactly like a watermelon Jolly Rancher candy. I absolutely loved it. Mom - who loves all things coffee - really enjoyed her choice of beverage as well. For our meal we decided to get three appetizers: mozzarella and basil stuffed meatballs ($6.99), Italian breaded ravioli ($7.25) and boneless buffalo chicken wings ($8.99). The food came out fast and Jeff warned us to be careful of the baked meatballs served in the still-bubbling crock of spicy Arrabiatta sauce. We decided to start with the ravioli, which were deep fried pillows stuffed with cheese and served with a side of Pomodoro sauce for dipping. They were very tasty (the filling was so fresh!) and quite addictive. Although the menu stated that the filling was a mozzarella cheese, Mom and I both thought it tasted and looked more like a ricotta/mozzarella blend. Mom and I moved onto the large boneless chicken wings doused in a tangy buffalo sauce and accompanied by a cup of blue cheese. The wings were tender and juicy and the sauce had a great kick to it, but was not overwhelming. Finally, after the meatballs had cooled down just a little bit, Mom and I each plopped one onto our plate and dug in. The meat was cooked perfectly and had a wonderful flavor. The meatballs were overstuffed with deliciously fresh basil and mozzarella cheese which you could taste in every bite. They were huge and the sauce used was very fragrant and flavorful. With all of the meat and cheese we had just consumed, Mom and I felt like a pair of stuffed meatballs. We were happy and full and so glad that we finally decided to try Taphouse Grille. Our bill came to $38.86 and we thanked Jeff for his excellent service and his help with my drink choice. The restroom, like the restaurant itself, was immaculate. Mom and I will definitely be back to this local gem. I hope my next jury duty appointment is in Fall River so that I can just walk across the street and load up on Taphouse Grille's many different lunch options. You know a restaurant is good when people actually look forward to going to court! Visit newenglandbites.com for more tasty reviews from Southern New England!

Great place for a drink and to watch a game, but I've been there twice and food is never cooked right . The wait staff are friendly enough though so it's not a total loss for them.

This place was awesome! Food was delicious, good selection of draft beer, and the service was great. We sat at the bar and I believe the bartenders name was Justin. He was great! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Fall River.

If this was my first impression of Fall River, I'd think it was a pretty hip place. We came because we had a $25 gift card; I would go back because I am in love with the beer selection, the atmosphere and that mac & cheese. Up front I am going to say the service was lackluster. Our waitress kept touching my boyfriend, which I think bothered him way more than it irked me, and she knew nothing about the beers. Despite that, she was attentive, and service was on pace. The beers... there's about a dozen drafts, with a good four or five devoted to seasonal brews. The only lights you're getting here are Bud, Coors and Taphouse (house water?). They do a four-beer sampler of whichever draft you care to try. I stuck with a pint of the Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin, complete with sugar-cinnamon rim. Menu items cover your typical pub American fare, but it all looked good. I had the buffalo tenders (spicy!) and the buffalo mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was enough for two people to split for dinner plus have another dinner leftover to take home. It was oh-so-good with chunks of buffalo chicken and blue cheese amid ooey gooey elbow pasta topped with just the right amount of breadcrumbs. It hit the comfort food spot on a chilly night. The sesame chicken stir-fry was creative plated in a deep bowl layered with the ingredients and topped with a string of carrot. Again, there was plenty to take home for another meal. The steak tips also got a good review and generous portion. The restaurant is long and narrow with a modern but cozy atmosphere. The area behind the bar is enormous, and I wondered what they kept back there. There is live music several nights of the week, but we were unable to stay and hear the band that was setting up while we were eating dinner. Overall, if I am in the area again, I will definitely go back to the Taphouse -- if only to check out the draft selection. P.S. There is complimentary valet parking if you have trouble finding a spot on the street.

excellent one-on-one service (we were the only patrons inside at 4pm). we ordered a lot, and loved it all. from their mushroom pizza to their nachos, all sooooo good! interior is one BIG square, with a bar lining one side. interior was also spotless and contemporary. i would go back, if i for some oddball reason was ever in town again.

This place was a real find. I went there with a friend after visiting the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Museum and loved it. It's a very nice looking place with a great food selection that is reasonably priced. The mussels are AMAZING and are practically a full meal!!! I would highly recommend them. Honestly can't wait to go back to try more items on the menu. The place had an extensive beer selection and good service. Had a great experience. Parking might be tough during busy hours, so plan to walk unless you get lucky and find spot on the street. Would highly recommend.

Pleasantly surprised. Went here with a friend who knows the area, and didn't know what to expect from downtown Fall River. I was surprised to find a super classic pub/sports bar style place that features live music. Actually, my only complaint about the whole place is that the live music is WAY too loud. I support local musicians and all, but I prefer to keep my hearing intact. This issue is something that I'm noticing with increasing regularity, as a matter of fact. When I go to a restaurant, it's because I LIKE the company I'm with and, chances are, I want to talk to them and HEAR their replies. We started off with a few drinks, both of pumpkin varieties since it was early December. For entrees she got... something I can't remember... and I got a salad with seared scallops. The scallops were so tasty and cooked perfectly, I wanted more as soon as they were gone! There were only four, sadly, but what do you want for $13.00. We rounded out our meal with some more pumpkin drinks, and nonchalantly dashed for the door before her ex from high school saw us.

I have eaten here many times since Taphouse opened, for both lunch and dinner, and both during the week and on the weekends. The staff is always really friendly and attentive. Food is really good, reasonably priced, and the drink selection is awesome! On one particular busy weekend night a few months ago, our appetizer took a very long time to come out. Our waitress checked in multiple times and apologized every time, and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer the next time we came in. I ordered lunch take out from them today. The order took about 5 minutes longer than they said it would on the phone, but nowhere near enough to complain. Food was hot and exactly as we ordered it. The gentleman that waited on me when I came to pick up the order was very friendly, and also apologized it wasn't ready when I arrived. They also have lots of TV's that have different sporting events on. You can see at least one TV from every seat in the restaurant. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Fall River area, and I very highly recommend them!

We were on our way back to CT from Martha's Vineyard and were looking for a place to stop for dinner around Fall River...we found Taphouse Grille on Yelp and were not disappointed. Jill, our awesome waitress, was extremely friendly and attentive. The meatball appetizers were excellent, and my wife and son loved the steak tips (I had the pork tips which were really good as well). Great selection of beers...would highly recommend.

Came here with a few friends for some drinks and food and the drinks were really good. We ordered a couple pizzas to spilt and they were pretty good. We got a pesto pizza and a margarita pizza. Wasn't too impressed with the margarita pizza but the pesto pizza was good. We ordered French fries too and they were good. Nice and hot! Just the way French fries should be! Our waitress was very nice and she was good at what she did. Made sure we were taken care of. The only complaints I have... Is that the bathroom was sooooooo freaking cold! It was uncomfortable to pee! And that my Lizzie Borden hatchet drink said it came with a bloody hatchet and I didn't get a bloody hatchet! Very disappointing! I was excited for it just to see a mini hatchet in my drink! But the drink itself is good! And one last complaint.... We ordered a couple soda waters... And I know ALOT of places that do not charge for soda water.... 3 bucks a piece ! Tsk tsk tsk... Other then that. I Would def Recommend this place and would definitely come back!

This place has a nice and open feel to it with plenty of space for large groups. It's also fun to grab a booth with family or friends. The beer list is very nice - not on tap as well as by bottle. They have a great selection of food. I went for the bacon cheeseburger. It was really good. Lots of bacon and cheese. The side salad had a great dressing and the portion was a good size. I am looking forward to coming back. Please keep the southern tier on tap!

I like Taphouse a lot, I do. I've only gone on weekday nights, and it's never been overly crowded. The first time going there, my girlfriend and I split the mussels. If you're going to go to Taphouse for ANYTHING... go for the mussels. They're phenomenal. For our meal we split the BBQ pulled pork pizza, which was meh. In my opinion, it was undercooked and the crust was far too doughy. The pork was just kind of thrown on there in a couple of huge mounds, too. I'd prefer if it was spread out on the pizza a bit more. Anyway. The second time going, I got BBQ pork tacos which were GREAT (I'm also noticing a pattern now that I'm writing this review...) My girlfriend got the BBQ burger. We were both excited to see how the burger was, as we read rave reviews on it... but it wasn't too outstanding. The service has been nothing special either of the two times I've gone. Taphouse has a nice, relaxing atmosphere with good prices and a wide selection of food. I imagine it would be a bit busier on weekend nights, but if you go on a weekday you shouldn't have any issues with a wait. Also, parking can kind of be difficult. There' street parking along South Main, but it's just a matter of being able to park close enough to the restaurant. If you're lazy like me, that is.

Good food but not our kind of atmosphere. Unpleasant and loud music (I think it was a radio station; I really hate being made to listen to ads). Way too many TV's! Large but uninspired beer list. Blueberry salad was fresh and good. Fish and chips were fine.

The Tap House is unmemorable everything was fine but nothing extraordinary. I wouldn't object to going back but this isn't the place that springs to mind when I'm heading out the door.

Last night I found a tasty new - well, new to me - beer at Taphouse: Tröegs Mad Elf. And at 11% ALC, you might think you're an elf if you enjoy too many. But that's not why I went. Really. My GF and I have returned here a few times since our initial visit but had yet to sample Taphouse's food. So last night we were largely impressed by the dishes we ordered from what had otherwise been regarded as an after dinner joint. They were way outside the quality of offerings we had anticipated. Our appetizers were half price. The mussels were really the crown jewel of the entire culinary adventure. They were large - for mussels - and resting in a delicious broth of spice, tomato and bacon bits. The accompanying cuts of large, soft, toasted and buttered garlic bread made this app a quasi entrée. There are few places that do mussels better. The fried Wontons on the other hand were all fried batter and very little minced content. And while the honey sauce was helpful, it just made the rubbery morsels taste sweet. It was like chewing on a piece of gum that had been deep fried with extreme prejudice and then dunked in honey. So my weighted average of the appetizers is about a C. Her steak tips were cooked exactly to her liking and were absolutely delicious. They had excellent texture and taste. My meat loaf came wrapped in bacon and was a few notches above average in flavor. It's worth ordering again if Taphouse ever runs out of its steak tips. The Jasmine rice came interspersed with peas, which I didn't want and wasn't aware of, but was a nice accompaniment nonetheless. The summer squash was very good but cool to the taste, which was...you know, kinda gross. Each time we've been to Taphouse the place has been spotless. However, the service has been hit-or-miss, ranging from eager and helpful (this is mostly the case) to (in one visit) disinterested and lethargic. And when disinterest is paired with that pained look of exasperation and indifference, the experience lessens. Our bartender last night - Joe - does not fall into the latter category. He was courteous, informative, helpful and attentive. A line-up of similar staff with some buttoning up on food details could make the Taphouse Grille the indisputable go-to place in downtown Fall River.

Nice bar. Place has gone down hill ever since Chef Dave left and they sold the place. Total ghost town any time of the day or night. Overpriced drinks. Good prices on food. Thanksgiving sandwich is yummy

Really good food, some of the best boneless buffalo wings around, and I make it a point of trying at every new place I go, have been several times and never disappointed,,,friendly staff also, not over priced in my opinion...

Very crowded place on a Friday night! We had a long wait for a table. The atmosphere is very loud. They had a band playing. The food was ok. I had the meatloaf sandwich with sweet potato fries. The drinks were good and reasonable. Overall, not bad.

We went here on a Sunday afternoon when the Patriots weren't playing. There weren't many people, but it was still on the loud side. I would think it would be crazy loud during a game. There are TVs on all the walls. It took a while for the waitress to acknowledge us, but after that service was very good. They have 24 beers on tap, which made my husband happy. I had the Horseneck Beach martini and it was delicious. We started with the boneless Asian wings and they were delicious. We got four large pieces of chicken. My husband ordered the mixed seafood plate with mashed potatoes and veggie which was butternut squash. They were out of scallops so they gave him a little extra salmon. He thought iit was just OK. If we went back he wouldn't get it again. I ordered the sausage and pepper pizza and it was good! It was larger than I expected and with both my husband and I having some we brought half of it home.

I like this place. The atmosphere is nice and the menu offers a fantastic variety. It's also nice to have a fun, casual place downtown. The frequent Groupon offers definitely help as I almost never dine out without a coupon of some sort! I usually go on weekday evenings and have never had to wait for a table. I went once on a weekend, and it was busy, but I don't remember waiting for a table very long. I've had several different entrees and sandwiches and have enjoyed every item. The muscles appetizer is amazing; splurge on that, definitely! Take out was very good and efficient, too. The only reason this place does not knock my socks off is that the service lacking a little. Nothing really horrible, but I feel forgotten by the server sometimes when I go there. The food is good enough to make up for it, though.

The Taphouse is a nice, classic American pub... clean, open, a good menu (ok, very few vegetarian items, but still!), and a young, but not rowdy crowd. I've been there twice and enjoyed each experience. First time: we got onion rings (awesome), a caprese salad (possibly the best item on the table), and a cheese panini (SOOO cheesy!). Everything was great. Our waitress was very friendly, and tried to help me with a beer selection. Unfortunately, she didn't know beers (which she was totally upfront about!) and ended up making poor recommendations based on what I wanted. But, like I said, that was really not her fault. She even brought me a sample of another beer she thought I might like, and even though it still wasn't my cuppa, I appreciated the gesture! The "meh" beer was more than made up for with another beer that another customer recommended to me. Apple beer (not cider, but basically tasted like it) that comes in a pint glass dusted with cinammon. That's probably beer blasphemy (beersphemy?) but I don't care, it was tasty! The best part was when we got the bill... drinks, appetizer, two small meals, and dessert, and I think the total was $25! I have never in my life seen a bill that low for so much food! Plus, our waitress had free soda refills coming so fast, we could barely finish the glass before another would be here. Anytime I'm in Fall River, Taphouse is where I'm going for dinner. It's not a culinary thrill ride, but I doubt you'll be disappointed either.

First off, forget trying to find a parking space around here, pull right up to the front door and use the free valet service. Throw them a tip on the way out and you save yourself the headache of driving around in circles looking for a spot. Went in with some friends on a Friday night, while it was busy we were seated right away. We started with some drinks, the wife ordered the red sangria which she seemed to enjoy, I forget the beer I tried but it was very good. (Wish I knew the name so I could get it again) We then had the boneless wing sampler plate which had buffalo, a type of bbq and an Asian style. While all of them were good, the asian style was the favorite, would get a whole order of those next time. Also had some chips and salsa with fresh guacamole... this is not on the menu, you have to ask for it. (friends have been before) The pizza here is fantastic. We have tried the BBQ Pork Pizza and the Mediterranean Salad Pizza. Also worthy of a taste is the Taphouse Burger, ordered it medium and that's how it came... the sweet potato fries were good too. We were all too full by this point to try dessert so no review on that... Overall everything was very good and we will definitely be going back. Service was also perfect, the waitress was quick with drinks and very pleasant. It actually seemed like she enjoyed her job, something you don't see very often. Just remember, it's a Taphouse, not a fine dining establishment and you will be happy. But hey, don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself...

Walk in here any weekday at lunchtime and you are likely to run into a who's who of the Fall River legal scene. The last time I ate here I sat 1 table over from the Clerk Magistrate and 2 tables over from the Bristol County D.A. If you need a good defense lawyer, this is the place to go. The food ain't half bad either, although I am prejudiced because they have sweet potato fries. The seafood is fantastic, and so are the burgers! What else is there in life than seafood and burgers? OH YEAH! LOTS OF BEER ON TAP! BAM!!! GO THERE!

After a visit to the Lizzie Borden House on the last tour, we needed some lunch. This place was open on Columbus Day (don't know why New England thinks it's a holiday), so we took a chance. Happy surprise! First off, excellent service, hands down, very memorable. Great selection of beer on tap, and we made it on time for happy hour! Atmosphere was very sports bar, as there were tvs everywhere. Parking I imagine would be cutthroat on a normal day, but since it was a holiday we were able to park fairly close. I fully recommend their beer battered onion rings, which are ridiculously good. Even my husband, who hates onions, liked them. They were smokey, can actually taste the beer, perfectly crisp and not greasy. I ordered an apple beer with a cinnamon sugar rim, which was a delight to drink. I had good old fish and chips, the rest of the table had steak tips, a burger, and BBQ pork tacos. We were very happy with our beers and our food. This is probably a great place to hang out, have some beers, and watch a game with friends.

I came for the local pub ambiance and was not let down. The beer on tap selection is beyond outrageous. I was able to get great recommendations from the bartender when I gave her a couple of adjectives describing what I like.

This is a tough place to review. I really want to like The Taphouse Grille, and a couple of items on the menu have brought me back in the hope that my experience will be better than the last. I guess my biggest problem with The Taphouse Grille is the generally poor service. The wait staff appear to be young and (frankly) a little lazy. The waitresses give off a definite air of indifference. It seems that they'd prefer to ignore the fact that you're waiting for a drink refill or the plates cleared, because they'd simply rather chat with each other. During my first trip to the restaurant, I thought it was an off night for the waitress. Nope. On my two subsequent trips I found a similar level of poor service. There is no manager on the floor with real customer-service experience to train staff properly or keep the servers in check. The restaurant is consistently clean, but it can get noisy due to the acoustics. I will say that on my last trip I had the mussels, which were extraordinary. Not just good. Truly excellent. Spicy and well seasoned, with lots of sauce in which to dip the generous portion of buttered, toasted bread. Divine! If I was judging the restaurant on this dish alone, it would be 5 stars without reservation. I wish I had stopped there, because the salmon that followed (the waitress' suggestion) was a big disappointment (I say "big" deliberately because the portion was absolutely enormous... borderline wasteful). Frozen salmon covered in a thick, gooey, sweet/salty sauce. No good. My friend's Chopped Salad looked a heck of a lot better than my entree. I was disappointed with the margaritas, and will stick to beer and wine if I decide to return to The Taphouse Grille.

A comfortable pub with a good beer menu, large portions and tasty food. We went on a Thursday, and the place was mostly empty. The waitstaff was friendly and everything tasted great. I prefer a thicker chowder, and theirs was a bit thin, but still had ok flavor. French onion soup and buffalo mac & cheese was great. Cod could have used a little flavor or spice but was served well with butter and tomato and the bread crumbs were perfectly browned. Waitress brought the wrong beer but left it at no charge in addition to getting the correct one. Music was at just the right volume where you could listen if you wanted but did not notice if you were having a conversation. We would go back.

This place is excellent - the food is the best I've had anywhere in the area, top notch mixed drinks. The only thing that wasn't above-par was the music. If some of the bands who play in New Bedford would head over to the Taphouse, it would be the only place to be around here.

Stopped in last week to catch a game while I was in town. I'd never been to any of the "hot spots" in Fall River. I was impressed with this place. It is nice and clean, lots of tvs, attentive service, and many types of beer on tap. The bartender was happy to turn on the game of choice and had lots of suggestions about the best of local brews. Prices are fair. The menus are extensive and tempting. Though I didn't dine here the food of the people sitting nearby smelled fabulous - especially the mussels. I will have to dine at the Taphouse during my next visit.

I enjoyed the food here and the service was spot on. Granted, I went mid-day and it was pretty slow. Casual atmosphere, but the menu isn't typical brewery fare - the food is definitely decent with a lot of healthy options. My biggest complaint is the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. There's a few sandwiches thrown in, but not one meatless entree to be found. Personally, I eat fish, but my boyfriend is a vegetarian and this isn't a place I'd take him. Too bad, because it's close to home!

Townie bar with a decent beer selection, but sub-par food... A good stop for a quick beer on your war way to somewhere else, but not worth a night out...

  • Jay B.

The food is above average pub fair for very reasonable prices. Solid thin crust pizzas and decent sandwiches as staples. Great steak tips, and some fish and pasta options (like the exceptional mac and cheese) are also decently priced for the better than expected pub food quality you are getting. The mussels appetizer is a real standout, as well as the carne asada tacos that are only available on the Wednesday Mexican night (one of my new favorite dishes). They have many beers on tap and in bottles as would be expected from a place called Taphouse. They range in the $4.50 - 6.50 price range, stated here since prices are not listed on the beer list (personal pet peeve). So very reasonable food, with slightly overpriced beer...overall a good choice for any crowd.

Went there on a Sat afternoon, hardly anyone in their. We ordered the onion rings, good, however very small portion. I ordered a make your own burger and my husband ordered the three cheese burger (swiss, american, and goat cheese). Both were very good, cooked perfectly, however on the three cheese burger, the goat cheese was too over whelming.. Would come back and try different things on the menu

New to the Fall River area and found this place by accident. Now it's my favorite place for sandwiches and beer. Loved the sweet potato fries and Rueben. My favorite sandwich there is the Thanksgiving sandwich. I was only able to eat half of it and got to savor that delicious bread again the next day for lunch.

Great experience. We loved sitting at the bar and ended up with pizza and my husband had some local beer. The food was great and so reasonable! The bartenders are friendly. That evening the restaurant was quite busy. It looked as if everyone was enjoying their meals. We would go back if we are ever in the area again.

The Taphouse is a new, extremely clean bar right on Main St. across from the new courthouse. I was excited for this place to open, because I'm embracing places where I can get more than a Coors Freaking Light on draft. Because competition on Main is scarce and its proximity to the courthouse (lawyers enjoy drinking), the Taphouse should kill it in Fall Reeves. This was my third time visiting The Taphouse. The first time I was alone and stopped in for a chowder and a beer at lunchtime. They were out of chowder. Not a good start! But they had Alagash on tap, which tickled my britches dandily. So I had a couple of beers and left. Second time I went was a drinking only affair, and the clientele were extremely respectable. I saw some old friends and a local big shot politician, and the bartenders were friendly and accommodating. Drank a ton of beer, left happy. Yesterday I finally went there for dinner, and with the family no less (there's five of us, three of which are under five years old...it can be a shit show at restaurants sometimes). Quick Review: The Taphouse delivered. Much better than I expected. We got there around five, the place was empty and we were greeted immediately and sat in a nice big booth in the back of the place. We have kids, and they were smart enough to give us the comfortable seating. Our waitress was extremely prompt. I asked for an IPA (liquid gold) and she got me a Harpoon which tasted super special...cold, carbonated...nice. We ordered our food: Wife - Burger: "Good," she said. "But overcooked." Kids - Pasta: It was Fusili Rigati, which was curly and fun, and they serve it in a French Onion Soup bowl. Just the fact they serve fun sized pasta shows they're thinking. Me - The Wife and I split a Cesar Salad, and we asked for dressing on the side. Some places give you a bowl of dressing with like three pieces of drowned romaine in it. It came with dressing on it, and as soon as our waitress put it down she realized and was very apologetic. We kept the salad though, because it was dressed perfectly. But the salad was meh. A little brown on the lettuce. Surprising crunch. Very lemony. Here comes the awesome part... I ordered another beer (Loose Cannon IPA on tap? Really? you had me at "Loose." Awesome beer...I don't think the bartender cleared the lines before my first one though...no biggie) and ordered an appetizer for an entree, the steamed mussels. I figured, why not REALLY test the Taphouse with some shellfish. Either it's good, or I'm at Charlton getting an saline IV. First of all, it came out PIPING hot (good) and the broth was very nice...not orgasmic good like the Back Eddy's, but really good. And actually, I liked it because the mussels stood up for themselves. AND...the bowl never ended...it was like the bottomless pit of mussels. I just kept finding more. Nice touches: Served with a nice grilled crusty bread to sop up all the broth of love. Three gigantic pieces...awesome. After dinner, our lovely waitress informs me that appetizers were half price at this time, so I got a mountain of mussels for like, $4.50. Total bill: $50.00ish, so about $10.00 per person, and I had three beers. So less. Go early and get the mussels. Go late and drink kick-ass beers and make fun of lawyers. Everyone is friendly and the place is cleaner than an old Portuguese lady's house. I came in with low food expectations and was quite happy. Sometimes when you go to a restaurant EARLY when there's few people there, the service is worse than when it's a packed house. But Taphouse was a good take, and the kids loved it, too.

I've been here quite a few times and this time things were a bit off. We got there generally early for dinner around 5 and we were the only ones in the restaurant with the exception of a few patrons at the bar. We sat down and our waitress was really nice and patient with us deciding on drinks. I asked how the apple pie beer was and she offered me a sample. She came back with a sample that had a cinnamon sugar rim, this made me smile. The beer was great so I ordered that and the rest of the people I was with ordered specialty martinis. Everyone liked their drinks. The rest of my party was discouraged by the lack of appealing appetizers. Even though they were half price until 6pm we decided against getting one. I ordered my old faithful caprese salad but this time I ordered shrimp and my counter parts ordered clam chowder, ceaser salad and a Reuben sandwhich. Everyone liked their food. However, my Caprese Salad was strange...There were no thick fresh slices of tomatoes or mozzarella. The shrimp was pretty good, but I was so disappointed with the boccaccini because I love the thick slices. But The thick balsamic glaze makes the whole dish, so I couldn't be too unhappy with the plate. Although, the weird thing was that there was no basil on my plate at all. I didn't miss it though because basil isn't my cup of tea, however...it was just weird.

The Taphouse may have the best selection of beers on tap in or around Fall River as the name implies, but the food is also remarkable. The dishes are well presented and the quality and class are much better then one would suspect with what appears to be another pub. The service has always been pleasant and attentive even when the Taphouse is busy and loud as it tends to get later in the night. I recommend starting with a flight of 4 draft samples and a cup of chili (the bowl is a meal in itself). They even have free valet parking on weekend night, which is very convenient.

Very clean, comfortable place. Good food, good prices. Delicious huge burgers, perfectly cooked to order, love the option of mixed greens on the side instead of fries. Can also choose what appears to be a hand cut sweet potato fry. Friendly service. 4 stars instead of 5 for blue cheese dressing rather than the real cheese on the burger.

As I have stated before, I am not a food critic, just a consumer with bad, annoying, debilitating food allergies (no wheat, no dairy, no yeast, no egg yolks, no mushrooms to name a few). This is one of the places that really, truly cares. They will work their hardest to make sure you get just what you want and how you need it. The owner has a rock solid idea of appreciation and gratitude for his customers. If you like beer, they even have a gluten free beer available, which is a nice option. The bar is beautiful and the row of booths give the space a really fun pub feeling. The proportions of the room make it feel a bit disconnected from bar to tables, but this isn't an interior design site but rather a site to tell you, if you are like me and cant eat without it feeling like a total fiasco, this is one local place that gets it and doesn't charge you a fortune. The staff is attentive and kind with a real attention to detail... this is the place. Check them out! Also even if you want to grab a pizza, my partner is crime, Miss Lola stated it was the best pizza in the area. We got one to go for Ma Dukes and Miss Lola had to eat a piece in the car on the way home. I delivered a pizza missing a slice! So thanks Taphouse staff! You make me happy about buying my house in Fall River... now if only we could get them to fix my street!?!

Food was tasty, drinks were good but the waitress we had the night we were there was worst I've ever experienced. If you are saddled with a tall, skinny blond for a waitress, then you might want to rethink it and ask for someone else. I wasn't done with my dinner, actively eating from my plate and she up and took it away...kept taking everyone's drinks off the table, even though they weren't finished with them. We'd look away for a few minutes, turn back to get it and it'd be gone and she's walking away with it. I have no problem with wanting to be efficient and clean off the table but ask if we're done first. That's just some of the shenanigans...Some of the other wait staff seemed pretty efficient and much nicer to the patrons. It was quite loud in the restaurant and hard to hear my friends while we were trying to hold a conversation. Parked with the Valet and he was great--had my car waiting when I got to the door, he had seen us getting ready to leave and got my car ready. I would go back again though. The menu does look good.

Giving it 3 stars because it was halfway good this time. 3rd visit. Called first to make sure they weren't catering to a private party and closed, and figured we'd give it another try, 3's the charm, right? So I want to order the black and tan onion rings, but they are out. At first I thought, who runs out of onions? Then they explained they were pre-frozen and they ran out. Ok, so that happens I guess. (It shouldn't, since it's a regular menu item and not a special, but ok.) So I order chowder and chop salad. Must say the chowder was pretty good, nice bacon flavor that was kinda special and different from the norm, no clams, unless they were chopped up really fine, but overall very good soup. The chop salad was fresh and cold, but I didn't like the dressing. Again, my problem, not a negative, just saying order it on the side cuz it's really weird tasting to us. My husband said it tasted like gun oil. I could have asked for another kind but I'm ok with plain salad, so I didn't. The Hubby ordered fish and chips, pretty much a staple here in Fall River. IMO, don't waste the $10. This is not the place for fish and chips apparently. You get 3 tiny end-pieces, which wouldn't equal 1 piece of fish at other places around here, and a huge pile of STEAK fries. You just don't serve steak fries with fish. The fish was fine, the cole slaw was ok, I'm just saying it was a tiny order for a man. We will consider coming again, because it's really not a bad place, and the food is pretty good, I just think they need to work out some kinks.
